Me

Lili Vieira de Carvalho, 45, is a lucky Brazilian. In 2006 she met her partner, Ken Eisner, film critic from Vancouver, Canada through nerve.com. In 2008, after a lot of back and forth between the two countries she finally immigrated to British Columbia. It was the end of the 15-hour flights and the many hours on Skype and the beginning of an adventurous time.

Lili’s 20+ years of experience in the vibrant and cosmopolitan art market in Brazil took her at first to a period as Art Researcher at Adbusters magazine. Lili has been working at Diane Farris Gallery since June 2008 and was recently promoted as Associate Director. She is also responsible for the Brazilian program of the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival.

The Art Monitor is a natural side effect of a passion for the art world and the city she now calls home.

    Hello,

Some time in the last few months you posted images of my aerial view drawings on your Web site or listed a link to my site. Since last June several dozen sites from all over the world have put my images up for viewers.

Many thanks for your interest in my work. This was totally unexpected.

As several people have inquired about my prints, I am happy to announce I now have a small print available at a special price in the Fuse Works online gallery (www.fuse-works.com). My print can be seen in the Works on Paper section or by entering Racine in the search field.

For people in the New York area: the print is in the Fuse Works: Multiples and Editions exhibition at The Front Room gallery in Williamsburg (Dec. 4 to Jan. 3). Opening on Friday, Dec. 11, 7 to 9pm. 147 Roebling St. (at Metropolitan Ave.), Brooklyn. Fri to Sun, 1-6pm; http://www.frontroom.org, (718) 782-2556. Directions: L train to Bedford stop, get out at Driggs Ave exit, walk down 1 block to Roebling St., turn right + walk 7 minutes to the gallery.

    Again, many thanks!

Just discovered this blog today, and I’m very impressed and hope you can keep it going. I know, it takes a lot of energy to maintain frequent entries, writing stories and interviewing people, and all for no money. But this is a welcome addition to Vancouver’s art scene (and the international blogs on art).

Please email me at your convenience.
